Quickly and easily become a grill pro

A key advantage of an iron grill, with the heat particularly intense in the center, is the ability to sear the food intensively in the hot center first to create a crispy crust and rich roasted flavors. The meat or other foods can then be placed at the edge of the grill, where they can continue to cook gently at lower heat or be kept warm. This prevents the food from burning while maintaining optimal doneness and juiciness.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will my Kindermann grill be delivered?

Shipping via freight carrier: Our grills and fire barrels are shipped via freight carrier. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks. Delivery is curbside.

Does my grill need to be prepared or seasoned before first use?

Yes, it's recommended to season your iron grill before first use to create a natural non-stick surface and prevent rust. Here are the seasoning steps:

  1. Cleaning: Remove any residue or protective coating from the grill with warm water and a mild dish soap. Dry the grill thoroughly.
  2. Oiling: Apply a thin layer of heat-resistant vegetable oil (e.g., linseed or rapeseed oil) to all surfaces of the grill, including the grill grate and the exterior. Be sure to wipe off any excess oil with a cloth to avoid drips.
  3. Heating: Slowly heat the grill to a high temperature (approximately 200-250°C). Let the oil burn in for about an hour. This can be done on a gas or charcoal grill. The oil will polymerize and form a protective layer.
  4. Cooling: Allow the grill to cool slowly. Once cooled, it is ready to use.

Repeat this process regularly to maintain the non-stick coating and extend the life of the grill.

How do I care for and clean my grill?

Proper care and cleaning of your grill is crucial to maintaining its longevity and performance. Here are some tips for optimal grill maintenance:

  1. Clean after every use: Let the grill cool down after cooking, but clean it while it's still warm to more easily remove burnt-on residue. Use a grill brush with brass or stainless steel bristles to remove food residue and grease from the grates.
  2. Avoiding dishwashing detergent: Do not use dishwashing detergent or soaps, as these can destroy the natural patina that forms during the seasoning process.
  3. After cleaning: Dry the grill thoroughly to prevent rust. You can briefly heat the grill to remove any remaining moisture. After cleaning and drying, apply a thin layer of heat-resistant oil to all surfaces of the grill to maintain it and protect it from rust.
  4. Storage: Store the grill in a dry place. If it stays outdoors, use a suitable cover to protect it from the elements.
  5. Regular seasoning: Season your grill regularly to maintain the non-stick coating and prevent rust. This is especially important if the grill hasn't been used for an extended period.

These care measures will keep your grill in top condition and deliver excellent grilling results for years to come.

How do I prevent my grill from rusting?

Please note the care instructions in question 2!

  1. Regular oiling
  2. Thorough drying
  3. Avoid prolonged contact with water
  4. Proper storage and covering

The Kindermann Promise

Better with every use – grows with you and your grilling skills.

After seasoning your Kindermann products, a natural protective layer of burnt-on grease, also known as a patina, gradually forms. This layer continues to develop over time, imparting a distinctive flavor to the prepared food and also acting as a natural non-stick coating.
